only disappointment is the lid gets really hot to press downyou need a towel or potholder where i didn't on my 1st foremanNow i purchased a big round grilling pan for the stove topjust a store brand it's amazing chicken and steaks just perfectbut George is great for my hotdogs, quesa dia's and suchyou have to try these grill pans they dont take up both burnersi can cook for 4 easy and it doesn't dry or harden the chickenlike the foreman can.
in numerous trys more it would not. Todd Drexel The first try it worked engaged perfectly. I suppose that is why it was so cheap.
I am stuck with junk now as I thought it was good and got rid of the proof of purchase. They got rid of their mistakes. After several trys it finally did. After a month there are still a lot on sale. The Second worked fine for 2 weeks and suddenly the upper plate refused to remain engaged. The first one workd once just fine the second time the upper plate refused to remain engaged to the lid.
The next use ittime it did the same. I returned to the store and tested a fresh one out of the box. I shall put this one in the garbage. Word must be out I hope. I purchased the Chanp Grill at a Bed Bath & Beyond on sale as a special purchace offer by the store. I returned it and was credited and bought another after testing the display several times.
Do you suppose the more expensive ones could have had a lemon of a run in production.also.
It is easy to use and clean. I love my George Foreman. Ive been using for over 6 months and it still works fine.
I put aluminum foil over the grease catcher dish, then just gather it up and throw away so no cleaning that. Heats fast--cooks a burger to well done in about 3 minutes. I think it's great. Only sized for one person cooking however. makes a good ham and cheese sandwich pretty quick.Cleans easy if you use the plastic spatula while the unit is still warm and wipe with a paper towel.
it seems that it will not break easily. Also, the grill plates do not come out so you have to find a way to clean the grilling surface without getting the rest of the machine wet. However, the back hinge does not allow for thicker pieces of meat so you end up getting a piece of meat that is over cooked at the back of the grill and under cooked at the front of the grill. Buying a slightly larger machine with removable grilling plates would solved most, if not all, of this problems.Foreman makes a good machine. This grill is very well made and sturdy. It heats quickly and grills just as it should. Most importantly, this machine's grilling surface is only large enough to fit one medium sized filet or chicken breast at a time.
